Riverside Park was originally designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and is now one of Buffalo’s most vibrant outdoor areas. We aim to ensure that this market becomes a sustainable source of healthy, local food that will be a strong contributor to the social and economic vitality of our neighborhood.
The idea for a farmers' market came directly from the community itself. Several residents expressed frustration with the lack of food options, and requested a farmers' market throughout the summer months. After consultation with Councilmember Joseph Golombek, we knew that by providing a needed service to the area, this market aligns with our commitment to neighborhood stability, local businesses, and positive community engagement. A farmers' market is the perfect venue for the kind of social and economic participation that helps neighborhoods come together and thrive.
Come see the market for yourself, and join us on July 14th for our opening day! Whether you are looking for fresh cut flowers, ripe strawberries, or simply some good conversation, we will have something for everyone. If you have any questions or comments, feel free to give us a call at (716) 877-3910. You can also find updates on our Facebook page, at www.facebook.com/pages/Riverside-Farmers-Market.
Below is our calendar of events. Take special note of our Craft Fair days, when local artists and artisans will sell a variety of jewelry, home goods, and gifts. We look forward to seeing you there!
